Meet The Worlds Most Elusive Breeds
[Cleverus Cloggus]
The true grafter of the business world, the Entrepreneur is a determined and passionate breed, often described as a visionary, weaving nests in the most niche areas of the business environment. A resourceful flock, the FT-reading Entrepreneurs are more likely to start up a new business than the more common variety of Entrepreneur.

Found in most countries, this breed has a vested interest in nurturing its fledgling business to maturity. It spends a minimum of 14 hours a day working, and sometimes six days a week, to make sure it’s strong enough to take off. |

Natural habitat
The more fledgling the business, the more likely it is that the Entrepreneur
will be found nesting down in an office. As patriarchs of their business,
they start the day on their terms, rising early to catch that worm.
Shying away from routine and preferring to do deals face-to-face, the more mature Entrepreneur will take work outside of the office to more unconventional locations such as restaurants and hotel lobbies.
Feed
Pecking their way through national and international FT publications, the
Entrepreneur likes to consume news mid-flight. Using a mobile or the latest
netbook, they habitually trawl through the pages of Business Life on FT.com
to unearth any promising business tit-bits. With success come riches. This
breed loves to find exciting ways to splash its new-found wealth, turning
frequently to the FT’s How To Spend It magazine for inspiration. Research
has also shown that this breed feed on FT Money and is very likely to have
a subscription to the weekday FT and an interest in the Companies & Markets
section.

For those with a more mature business, flying is a regular occurrence. Taking to the skies for business and pleasure, this breed loves what it does, seeing happiness as being just as important as profit. Migrating up to eight times a year for business, a large percentage of the established Entrepreneurs also have chauffeurs to ferry them around once they’ve grown tired of using their wings. An industrious breed, they rarely take their beaks away from the grindstone, enjoying only three holidays each year. |

With such a broad range of backgrounds, it can be hard to spot an Entrepreneur. Look for them by the endless tangle of gadgets that they hide about their bodies. Spotters should look for casual yet carefully put together plumage. They have an understated appearance, shying away from convention and avoiding ties at all cost. Entrepreneurs have also evolved a particular taste for fine art and sculpture. |
